Thrifted Thursday: Trenched

Who says you can’t thrift your way to a bomb-ass business wardrobe? Not me. Thrifting will expose you to some of fashion’s greatest (or worst) lost treasures that can sometimes make it seem like their only purpose was to push you out of your comfort zone. You may see a blue and pink neon printed wool sweater from the 80’s and think, “My god, this is so different, I wanna see if I can really rock this” or you might just walk away and think “these wacky old clothes just aren’t for me”. That’s totally fine, but don’t give up on the idea of second shopping altogether. Make no mistake, I don’t walk into a thrift store and think, “today I’m going to find all my basics that I need”. So don’t expect to find the perfect pair of black suit pants and a white t-shirt you can wear with anything. You may very well find exactly that, but don’t get disheartened if you don’t. Just keep your mind open. Take a chance on a not-so-basic LBD, or a cashmere sweater that would go great under a blazer, or even some belts to jazz up those black suit pants you already have in your closet.
