Do & Brew Summer 2017
esa nyc was in L.A. for one day to bring all your unwanted (doomed for landfill) clothes back to life!
We learned how to naturally dye, make tassels to embellish with, cut an old t-shirt into a tote bag or tank, and paint the day away on your unwanted clothing. Ryan Sallis headlined with beautiful acoustic tunes.
Thank you L.A. for saving 85 pieces of clothing from hitting a landfill!
esa x green festival fashion show June 11th 2017
esa had the privilege of curating the green festival expo's sustainable fashion show. Meg Shops, Noorism, Study NY, Alexis Walsh, A New York Affair, zero waste daniel, and Cope Customs came together to display the many different aspects of sustainability in the fashion industry from local production to up cycling!
Thank you green festival expo for setting up the space and allowing esa to bring amazing brands together for a fun presentation.
esabitchin' Spring 2017
A night out with friends with the wine provided by Indie Wineries, water bottles by dopper, music by Hunt For Gold, and art by 529 Arts Avenue!
Zero Waste Daniel, A New York Affair, Tamasq, Rosina Mae, Purple Impression and Jackii Ramis showcased their looks on live models who had the facts on why their clothes both looked good and do good. Our second floor, had limited time access to our specially curated array of conscious designers who sold their merchandise Pop-Up style.
Harlem Earth Day After Party
We celebrated Earth Day this year by shopping small and fair trade with NYC Fair Trade Coalition at their Harlem Earth Day Walking Tour and Earth Day After Party hosted by esa. We learned how to weave with fabric scraps that once were doomed for landfill and how to turn an unwanted t-shirt into a tote bag!
Do & Brew @ Not For Them Art Gallery
In partnership with the NYC Fair Trade Coalition & Nineteenth Amendment, esa invited you to come celebrate Fashion Week at its DIY party! You brought all your unwanted (doomed for landfill) clothes back to life and saved 254 garments!
t-shirts were turned into something new like tanks and tote bags at our t-vamp station, embroidery was taught by New York's first haute couture embroidery school, Ecole Broderies de Luxe. Beads, rhinestones, patches, and painting made the pieces truly unique. Music, drinks, community, and creative energy made it an unforgettable day!
13.1 million tons of textiles are thrown in landfills annually: we minimized that and had fun doing it.
